Letras Latinas associate to inaugurate interview series

Lynda Letona

These past two years, I’ve had the pleasure of working with Lauro Vazquez, who completed his MFA at Notre Dame last spring, but will continue to be affiliated with Letras Latinas for a third year, though his focus will be his own creative work in his capacity as winner of the Sparks Fellowship.

But since mid-May, Letras Latinas has had the good fortune of also benefiting from the talents of Lynda Letona, who was a Letras Latinas associate this summer. Readers of Letras Latinas Blog—beginning this Sunday—will begin to see the fruits of her collaboration. Lynda has been conducting thoughtful e-interviews with a number of Latino/a poets with new books and soon-to-be published books.
In all, Lynda will be posting about half a dozen of these in the coming weeks. Check back on Sunday night to learn who will inaugurate this new Letras Latinas Blog series!

To learn more about Lynda and her own trajectory as a writer, here are two places on the web to explore:

Lynda Letona is an MFA student, Creative Writing Instructor, and collaborator for Letras Latinas at Notre Dame. She received her MA in Creative Writing from the University of South Dakota. Her poetry and nonfiction has appeared in Liternational, hotmetalpress.net, and The VLP Magazine. She is currently working on a collection of poetry titled The House of Dark Writings exploring the Spanish conquest of the Mayas. Lynda was raised in Guatemala and California. Her special interests include film, theatre, and multicultural literature.
